Dynamic forms are characteristic of Groenhof's spatial works. Her sculptures are often formed by two intersecting movements. Lines cross each other, both in plane and in space, creating a repetition of sharp angles over and over again. The plane seems to be broken up into a pattern of fragmented shapes. The abstraction of a purely geometric play of lines suddenly becomes a recognizable representation.
This formal language also characterizes her paintings. Here, space comes into play in a complex layering of overlapping and intersecting color patterns - the third dimension is not artificially created, but made visible in a natural way.
